MY TOPIC SELECTION IS THE EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION.
The emancipation proclamation was a document that President Abraham Lincoln wrote himself and published in 1863. This document was made for the purpose of freeing slaves in the south, the problem is that he could abolish it in the north as well without the congress's consent. This meant that he could not make everyone free in the country only the congress could because, believe it or not they had more power than he did. Before Lincoln could attempt to free slaves in the south he had to wait until the war was being won, so that certain states would not try to rebel against Lincoln's document about freeing slaves in the south. This is a good innovation topic because, without this some people would still be slaves in the south and even in the whole country. (general knowledge)

My primary source is http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/featured_documents/emancipation_proclamation/
this is a primary source because, it has actual pictures of the emancipation proclamation document. This website also, tells what the document was about as well as when it was made. This website shows who signed the document.
The next source that I've found is http://americancivilwar.com/eman.html
This a primary source also because, it has the written document and books about the civil war as well as books about the emancipation proclamation. Some of the books are called, Abraham lincoln, The emancipation proclamation three views, nothing but freedom: emancipation and its legacy. These books tell about how the emancipation proclamation was tied to the civil war and towards the freeing of the slaves.
My next source is a secondary source is called, http://americancivilwar.com/eman.html This website is a secondary website because, it shows the author's opinion as well as facts about the emancipation proclamation. The author tells how the document was established and its effect on the war with the slaves in the south. He could not free all of the slaves because, this document only applied to the south. The document only applied to the south because, the south did not want to have free slaves but the north did. So this website tells about how the document worked between the north and south.
http://www.blogger.com/www. What if slavery was not abolished in the south and the north? This website gives information about how the emancipation proclamation gave people the right to rebel against slavery. This also, gave slaves free slaves the right to be with who ever they wanted to be with. so this is a great website for my n.h.d.
My next source is the http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h119.html website. This website has almost everything i need to know about the Emancipation Proclamation. It has facts about when the document was made also, it has different links to where other information can be attained throughout the website.
http://www.historyplace.com/lincoln/#emance This is a primary source because, this website has Lincoln's whole timeline of life. It has links about all of his historical moments. This website tells me everything from the time he was born all the way up to his tragic death. So i believe that this website will give me all the info I need to know about the Emanciaption Proclamation as well as anything else i want to know.
My next source is a secondary source. This source came from www.buzzle.com, the person wrote this was Gaynor Borade and it was published in 4/6/2009. This gives me facts about how the original document was written on September 22, 1862 but, the official document wasn't set in stone until January 1, 1863. It also, gives me facts about what Lincoln's intentions were during this time of crises.
My next source is the Great event of the Nineteenth Century: Lincoln Issues the Emancipation Proclamation. This is a primary source because it has a picture of Abraham Lincoln and his cabinet signing the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863. This source also gives me information on Lincoln's true intentions about using the document as well as opinions about it. This is also classified as a primary source.
This source that i have coming up is a website, which is called besthistorysites.net. This website has a link to where when I click on it, it gives me a breif summary of what happened during the time of the Emancipation Proclamation. Plus it is primary, because it has very detailed pictures during the time of Lincoln life time.
This next resource is a book by Allen C. Guelzo. The book is called, Emancipation Proclamation: the end of slavery. Now even though this document did not free the slaves completely this book does give great understanding about the emancipation proclamation. So this is a great primary source.
The next book is called, The Emancipation Proclamation the Three Views:(social, political, and iconiographic). This book is important to my research because, it has three different views about the document and the story itself. This is also a Primary source to my project.
